About the United Church

The United Church of Canada is a church with a rich, progressive, and continuing history of welcoming all in the name of Christ.

The United Church of Canada came together in 1925, through a union of Methodist, Presbyterian, Congregational, and other Christian churches – one of the first ecumenical unions in the world to bring together major Christian denominations into one body.

"We are not alone," is the first line of "A New Creed," one of our statements of belief. The United Church of Canada has a long history of welcoming people of all backgrounds and orientations – wherever you are in your faith journey.

For our 100th anniversary in 2015, we produced this reflection on our past and future.

Our History

Kimbourne Park United Church has been serving the East Danforth neighbourhood for over 100 years - from our roots as the Greenwood Presbyterian Mission, to our life today.

The shape of that ministry has ebbed and flowed over the years.

At our core, we strive to be a safe place for all people to worship and work together, regardless of race, creed, age, gender or sexuality.

We are a community of people, called to heal, learn and grow, and to contribute our diverse talents and experiences to promoting justice and humanity within our community and throughout the world.

Living out our Faith

In 2021, we sat down with several members of the congregation to talk through how we live out our faith. There are our stories.
