Nicole answers phone calls and emails, prepares the bulletin every week, the newsletter every other month, and creates the annual report. She also pays the bills, acts as secretary of the board, makes space use arrangements and deals with those who share our space, keeps our Facebook page and feed current and any other “secretary-like” jobs.
As a spiritual director with certificates from Emmanuel College, she unofficially works with the minister, helping to create worship and often replaces him in the pulpit when he is away.
Outside of her work, she is a lifelong resident of East End Toronto, having attended St. Brigid’s School just down the street, and École Georges-Étienne Cartier as a child. She lives in East York with her partner of the past 15 years, Dee. She is the mother of four adult children and grandmother to three school-age grandchildren. She is an avid crafter. She loves to needle felt, hence the name of her spiritual direction practice, Divinely Felt, as well crocheting and mandala colouring. She is a baseball fan and enjoys shopping.
When she came on staff here in 2013, Nicole wanted to open KPUC’s doors wide to welcome the community around us. We, as a congregation—and she is one of them—are doing just that and she hopes that we will open them wider still as we continue on our journey together.
